I was planning on getting the famed Lemon Kombucha when I first saw it on Jungkook’s VLive but I was more tempted by the Citron flavour when I saw it on the TEAZEN website (luckily, because it meant that I didn’t have to live with the guilt that I contribute to the immediate sell out and his pout in the 2nd VLive) 😆 BTS – truly king’s of selling-out products! (insert JK saying “MY POWER”)

“I could only get 2 packs”-pout

Getting its signature fizz from fermentation, TEAZEN Kombucha dissolved almost immediately when it came in contact with water (no need for lots of shaking), and has the mouth feel of slightly flat root beer when you follow the 250mL dilution.

Citron is reminiscent of yuzu lemon green tea + a small spoonful of honey, with a hint of yuzu peel bitterness – it covers the taste of kombucha ferment well – tangy, but nowhere near the sourness of having Lemona powder. When super diluted, you can taste a bit of the grapefruit in there too.

Cheers!

I’m allergic to orange (itchy red rashes), so if there’s any in there (under ‘flavoring’) it’s either a very insignificant amount or artificial version. My allergic reactions aren’t serious, so I tend to just wing it, but please always check ingredients if you happen to have any known allergies for food products.

Those familiar with my preferences will know that I have trouble finishing even a single can of cola, seldom order cold beverages at restaurants (unless they’re really photogenic) , and that my favourite ‘fizzy’ remains to be sparkling water.

Carbonated drinks and I just don’t get along, so kombucha was never something I particularly enjoyed, and I wouldn’t reach for it when looking for a treat; but I do think that the powdered medium offered makes it easy and versatile to customize to each person’s preferences.

Diluting it with around 450-500mL of green tea is now my go to, and I’d happily finish the pack for the small boost of good gut bacteria and try out the other two flavours.

I’ve finished around half my pack now (drinking once a day only, unlike Jungkook who drinks two), and I haven’t noticed a significant change to my bowel functions, but I imagine it’s more of a gentle process that builds up (especially because I’m not following the directions completely) and I might check back in after I finish the pack.

Kombucha is apparently ‘powering’ – here’s a cute JK pic to give you some energy too
